Defining Tax Types and Mapping to SKUs

The next step in the Exactor setup process is creating Tax Type Codes which will match up with codes in Exactor to determine how an item or service is taxed. Exactor calls these SKU Codes.

Note:  It is only necessary to set up Tax Type Codes for items and services that are taxed differently in different areas.  For example, installation services are taxed in some areas but not in others.  If a product or service is taxed consistently in all states, there is no need to set up a tax type code for it.

Go to Setup> System>Maintenance>Exactor>Exactor SKU.

Set up the Exactor SKU Codes

Tax Type Code                Enter a 1-2 word phrase for the code

Description                        Enter a description for the code

For multi-entity environments where items are shared, be sure to create the same Tax Type Codes in each entity to be consistent across entities.  Items only have one tax type code in the item master, so the Tax Type Code and corresponding SKU in Exactor should be the same.
