The Khameleon Main Menu Bar

This menu bar is accessible in every window of Khameleon.

File Menu

The functions and menu options of the File menu are similar to all Windows-based applications and include such operations as Clear Form, Save, Print, and Exit.

Edit Menu

The functions and menu options of the Edit menu are similar to all Windows-based applications and include such editing functions as Cut, Copy, Paste, Clear, and Edit. If commands under the Edit menu are dimmed, they are unavailable for selection.

Processing Menu

Processing menu options are specific and are distinct for each module. However, all Processing menu options address transaction based functions within Khameleon.

Notes

Inquiry Menu

Inquiry menu options are specific and distinct for each module. However, all Inquiry menu options open windows that allow you to specify parameters for common query issues related to the corresponding module. After the parameters are specified and a

search is initiated, Khameleon extracts all data meeting the search criteria from all of the associated records within the system. The resulting data set is often presented in list form, which is more useful than running a query from a processing or maintenance window and then having to scroll through records in the result set. Generally, no new information or records can be added in an Inquiry window. Only a few inquiry windows allow you to update or change fields.

Reports Menu

Reports menu options are specific and distinct for each module. However, all Reports menu options allow you to run Khameleon reports for the corresponding module. The initial window associated with all Reports menu options is a report parameter window, which allows you to filter the information that will be presented on the reports.

Functions Menu

Functions menu options are the same in every module and provide menu access to the Oracle functions discussed later in this chapter.

Maintenance Menu

Maintenance menu options are specific and distinct for each module. Maintenance menu options allow you to establish setup data within the corresponding module.

Notes

Favorites Menu

The Favorites menu is accessible in every window of every module. The Favorites menu allows you to bookmark select Khameleon windows for quick access. Using this option, you may access windows in any Khameleon module from anywhere in the system. This function operates much like the bookmarking functions in most

Internet browsers.
