Note Codes

From CRM> Notes> Maintenance> Note Codes

Note Codes are the foundation of Notes Anywhere.  Khameleon is delivered with predefined Note Codes for each module.  These Note Codes are defined as XXNOTE where XX represents the module abbreviation like AP for Accounts Payable or AR for Accounts Receivable.

When creating a new Notes Anywhere record within a module, the default Note Code present will be the XXNOTE for that module.  A List of Values is available for the selection of other Note Codes.

Additional Note Codes that are specific to certain transactional outputs like electronic invoice delivery are also predefined.  These Note Codes appear as EREPT_INVOICE – for Electronic Reporting – Invoice, used when automatically delivering Accounts Receivable invoices to customers routed via email.

Predefined Note Codes also exist in Khameleon for certain event driven activities that occur during the processing of a transaction and result in a notification internally or externally.  An example of this would be the Service Desk module, where notifications are generated upon the creation of an incident, assignment, dispatch, and closing of an incident.  These Note Codes all start with the abbreviation INCDNT- and vary based on the event to which the Note Code is associated.

New Note Codes can be created by end users as a means of structuring internal or external communications.  These Note Codes would then be selected by the user during manual Note creation.  There is no current capability within Khameleon to create Note Codes for reporting outputs or event driven notes beyond those that are defined by default.
