Setting Up New Account Group Roll-ups



From the Main Menu, go to Accounting\General Ledger\Maintenance\Accounts, Account Groups\Account Group Roll-ups.



1. Enter the new group information in the middle section:


Group Name

User defined account group name

Type

A = Group of General Ledger Accounts

G = Group of Account Groups

Description

Description of the account group

From Account

Beginning account range (if applicable)

To Account

Ending account range if from account is entered


2. In the bottom section select from the LOV the account or group to be included as a child in Account/Group. (Type A) or G/L Accounts (Type G) dialog box.


3. For groups of account groups:

a) Enter 'T' or 'G' in Type to indicate whether you desire to print group detail or one-line summary information.

b) Enter 'Y'es in Rev for any group with credit balances such as liabilities, capital and revenue. This will display the balances as positive numbers. It is not required.

c) Enter a value in Sequence to order the children as you want them to display inside the parent group.


Note: Type, Rev, and Sequence fields are not used in establishing groups of accounts.


4. Click Save and then Exit to return to the previous window.



Once these groups have been established, you may run financial statements or schedules for any entity (or group of entities) specifying the appropriate G/L group. Use the group name as the G/L group code when generating financial statements or schedules.
