Transferring Inventory from one Location to Another

The above steps outline the basic process for creating inventory transaction batches.  When transferring inventory from one location to another, it is required that a transaction code for Immediate Transfers be defined.

From Maintenance> Controls> Transaction Codes, define a transaction type description, then select a Rec Type of I as shown below.

While entering Immediate Transfer transactions, the From Location is defined by the location used at the initial batch creation screen, the To location is defined by the use of the list of values to Location within the batch entry itself.

Once an immediate transfer transaction has been entered, but BEFORE the batch is posted, the user can go to Processing> Inventory Transactions> Immediate Transfer Picking Tickets to generate a picking ticket for the transfer, or to Immediate Transfer Packing Lists if the transfer needs to be shipped to a different physical location.
